Retired Marine painting the town in Cuyahoga Falls with new business

Submitted photo Hide caption CUYAHOGA FALLS — After a quarter century on the go in the Marines Corps, including three deployments to Afghanistan, retired Sgt. Major Aaron Boone’s new boss will not be letting him take it easy. This is despite, or maybe because, his new boss is himself. The Cuyahoga Falls resident recently started taking orders for his new Five Star Painting franchise in late August. Boone said his stepfather told him about the company. “He said, ‘Take a look at this,’” said Boone. “Having been a prior recruiter, a Marine Corps recruiter in the area, the model kind of mirrors what I did on recruiting duty as far as marketing and advertising and talking to people.” It hasn’t been long since Boone left the service: In June, he went through his relief and appointment ceremony, symbolizing the passing of responsibilities from one sergeant major to another in the 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. It was the end of a quarter century career that began in 1994. “I was going down the road to nowhere. Not criminal-wise; I just didn’t have any direction,” he said.
